Awkward shape
The shape of the medal piece does not fit my horse, or any horse in the barn. It pinches and places too much pressure in the wrong spot. Ironically, it places no pressure at the point that would prevent my horse from cribbing.

Choking hazard
I would give it a zero if I could and would return it but it is used. My guy is a big quarter horse and tightened all the way was too loose to prevent cribbing. The stable owner took it off because she thought it was a choking hazard.

It works
Bought this for a horse that was using the miracle collar, it left really bad rubs around the ears, but it worked, just wanted one that didn't rub.

Works for me
I bought this collar 2 1/2 months ago to use on my OTTB. I had to punch a few extra holes, but it does the trick. He cribbed right through the expensive Dare collar.

Cribbing Elimination
Bought Nutcracker leather cribbing collar about month ago and have had to punch 3 new holes and put fuzzy guards to prevent chaffing. It has done wonders on stopping my horse's destruction.

As expected
If any crib collar is going to work, it would probably be this one. Unfortunately, didn't work for long with my stubborn horse.

Pretty Good But Not The Best
This is my cribber's current collar that he wears in his stall. I can't turn him out in it or his buddies drag him around and choke him by yanking on the extra material. Unfortunately this collar has to be very tight to be effective, mine is on the tightest hole. If it's rubbing then you have it too loose. My horse does not even lose hair around his throat, though he does get grey spots from the metal piece itself. This is a step up from the Miracle Collar, but not as effective as the Dare.

Would buy another!
I have had horses that crib over the years! and have always bought the expensive collar with the two straps, never again! the expensive collar leaves marks on their heads and makes them sensitive to bridle process. This one does not. It WILL relax some, but just add a hole or two!

Good Quality-it works
I tried a more expensive collar of different style with large throat block and my OTTB cribbed right thru it even with it as tight as it can go. I have found only the nutcracker style works for him and this one is nice because it is leather and will break away if he gets it tangled. Does rub him in some spots, but so does every other collar I tried. Good quality leather, just needs more holes punched as it stretches.

As good as it gets for cribber
I like this cribbing collar due to the leather strap, because I feel it is safer when I turn my horse out to pasture and in his stall I know it can break if it needs to. However because it is leather when he attempts to crib he stretches the leather out so more holes are needed( just the motion, not actually cribbing, otherwise he would be colicky all the time) I also had to put new holes in it just so it would fit (too large). The new holes are easy to place with leather punch. The leather is soft on their neck as well and doesn't rub as long as you put fleece around the metal part. I would get another one, much better than the french style, that rubbed raw or nylon strap that can't break in emergency.
