Why We Love This

Shires grazing muzzles are proven to help with controlled or restricted feeding regimens and special diets. The Comfort Grazing Muzzles are cut back under the chin to avoid unnecessary pressure and improve the fit. The muzzle features a rubber base with a hole in the bottom through which grass can enter, reinforced nylon web bars which allow free air exchange and the anti-chafe padding around inside of the muzzle protects the delicate nose and chin. The head and throat straps benefit from anti-chafe padding and the fully adjustable harness is fitted with a field safe fastening. The D-ring allows a leadrope to be attached. The Deluxe version of the Comfort Grazing Muzzle is lined with synthetic wool which helps protect against chafing and improves airflow around the delicate nose area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by pam j from quality Ive use these for year like all muzzle they need modified. the quality has been going down. There are places on the muzzle down by the chin strap. they don't finish the trim off well and there are sharp edges that need to be removed. You have to check with all muzzles for rub spots.

(2) straps have a good degree of size adjustability (3) size seems to run true since fit is quite adjustable. The fit for my quarter horse with a petite head was horse size (not Cob) to allow the muzzle enough space for breathing and comfort. The halter portion was no trouble to adjust. (4) fleece lining does a nice job protecting against rubs (at least on my guy), and there are no buckles or straps that seem uncomfortable or to rub (5) have not had this product long enough to know if he will be able to remove it, nor to speak to longterm durability, but it seems well made and well designed.

The small pony size fits her perfectly and each strap is fully adjustable. The synthetic wool helps prevent rubbing and the rubber on the bottom of the muzzle is thick and should last a long time. I also love that the crown piece and throat latch come with removable padding for added comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Melinda from Comfortable fit My horse that needs a grazing muzzle to control his weight was developing sores on his chin from the grazing muzzle I was using. I decided to try this Deluxe Comfort muzzle and it is great, so comfortable, no rubbing or chafing. The only adjustment I needed to make was to enlarge the hole at the bottom. It was just a bit too small and my horse was getting agitated by not being able to graze. It was an easy fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoTrott from nice padding I had a grazing muzzle without the fleece padding and it rubbed under the jaw of my horse. This one hasn't rubbed him anywhere. Won't work well when there are lots of grass seeds around but with green grass right now it's perfect. They all need to be snug or he'll rub them off his head and I just added vetwrap around the crown padding to increase friction to reduce his success in rubbing it off overnight!

Rated 2 out of 5 by adele from Could be better My horse is very clever, and I must admit, is hard on muzzles. Most recently, he has discovered he can hook it on things and pull it off. On the second use of this muzzle he did just that and pulled the stitching out on both sides of the head piece (on the muzzle). Upon inspection it appears to only be single stitched, which I'm sure is responsible for the extensive damage. I've had others last much better, despite my horse's best efforts. Though well padded, I wouldn't buy this one again. Now, to find someone to sew it properly....
