Works great, poor quality
I love the functionality of this training collar. It gives me a ton of security in the saddle knowing that if my young horse jumps really big I’m not going to bang her in the mouth. She’s reactive to too much pressure on her face and this collar really has improved our connection.
BUT, for the money I really wish the collar was higher quality. It’s not real leather and the snaps are plastic, not metal. I wish this was made like a real piece of tack. It feels very cheap. Since its plastic you can’t really clean it well. I’m worried its not going to hold up to much use. If it didn’t work so well my rating would be a lot lower.

Wow!
I'm slightly embarrassed at how much this contraption has helped me! I broke my leg badly while jumping years ago and it's been a struggle to get back into the groove. My mare is sensitive and doesn't tolerate a person using too much rein, which is totally understandable! On the flat, we are fine but when I start jumping, subconsciously my hands told her not to jump...not matter how hard I tried, she'd always end up bolting and bucking after the fence...one use with this collar and I was cantering xc fences all over my property in perfect harmony with my mare! She even seemed like she was having fun! I will keep using this in hopes that I will get muscle memory...this collar may have solved a huge relationship challenge with my mare and I! P.s I never write reviews, but this deserves it.

Shows promise!
I have limited use, but so far I am surprised at how much of an effect it had my warmblood’s contact. She was much more steady, and not nearly as evasive, apparently due to this product helping me to provide a more stable hand during my mare’s very active trot. I also took her over a few fences, and found we were both more balanced as a partnership. This odd little contraption is easy to hold and seems to have some real use for showing horse and rider stability, particularly for a horse that is unsteady in the contact or a rider that is unbalanced at times (in my case this is due to how much movement my girl’s trot generates). But it is difficult to decide how to handle the transition between using and not using. I would also appreciate more directions or suggested use ideas, as there is nothing in the materials to assist in its use or fitting. I think this tool will help support us as we build the correct muscles, allowing us independent success later without it. Time will tell. This was also the best price I found, by far.
