To get the best out of your Medical Hoof Boot:
We expect the boot to last 2-3 weeks under normal circumstances with many customers finding they last much longer. The boot is not indestructible and is not guaranteed against breakage due to the horse standing on the boot.
- Do not use boot while horse is being ridden.
- Please measure accurately, as incorrect sizing can result in damage to the boot.
- Do not use the Medical Hoof Boot in place of an overreach boot to prevent shoe loss.
- An overreach boot should be used to cover the Medical Hoof Boot on both front and hind hooves; this will protect both the horse and boot from damage. We recommend Woof Wear’s Kevlar Overreach Boot or Pro Overreach Boot.

Not durable
These did not last one use. It ripped apart just trying to get it on. I don't see how this neoprene could last.

I wanted to love it.
This was such a great idea in theory, however the fit was terrible on my horses club foot. Please note that it must fit more than the circumference of the foot, it must also be able to zip up the pastern! NOT for a clubbed foot horse!

Didn’t last 24 hours
I bought this a week ago per my vets advice. On the box and in an instruction video it states it can be used in turn out. I put the boot on with Woof Wears Bell Boot. The next morning I found the boot in the field ripped at the seams. Definitely not worth the price.

Perfect for my pony
I love these boots for my pony with laminitis. It has given him so much freedom in the pasture. He only ripped through one pair when I put them on all 4 feet. It gave him so much mobility and he was so happy, that he ran and bucked and flew through the pasture for an hour. I didn't mind. It was so good to see. So now I just keep them on the front feet in the pasture and take them off for stall time since he can stand on his matt. I love these so much!

Don't bother
I bought 2 of these as I had 2 horses with abscesses at the same time, the first one lasted through about 4 wears before my horse's hoof ripped all the way through the front neoprene. The second lasted only 2 wears before the exact same thing happened. Really disappointed, definitely not worth the price.

Doesn’t hold up- don’t waste your money!!
I bought this two days ago and but it on last night... my horse wore it in his stall all night then went outside during the day. When I got home from work I found that his toe had gone right through the boot. I was very unhappy. Paying this amount of money for only one use wasn’t what I was looking for. See pictures

Was very excited but let down
A barn friend let me buy one of these second hand (in really good condition) the other day as my horse has a hard time keeping shoes on and is way too tender to walk around without any protection. I originally put the boot on by itself and it was quite the workout getting it over the heel (my Ottb mare only has like a size 2 shoe and I was putting a size 5 boot on her).. After my friend and I got it on her I was pleased she could walk around a little more comfortable. She did go out in turn out (which was super muddy but not tough terrain). It did hold up for one day. The next day I took it off and wrapped her foot over night (leaving the boot to dry after washing the mud off of it), I got her foot wrapped and then got the boot on over my wrap (I made sure to not go heavy since it was snug to begin with and in hind sight I should have ordered a larger size before wrapping underneath). She got to stretch her legs on the lunge line and went on a bit of a bucking/cantering spree, which is unusual for her... Essentially ruining the shoe (although sound!)... I don't think I will purchase another like it, although I was very pleased in the beginning. I would invest some money into a different shoe if you are like me and have horse that likes to pull shoes at a constant rate - than maybe consider something a little more hardy. If you are using for just stall rest purposes than I would definitely recommend.

MORE SIZES PLEASE!!!!
This is an excellent product that when used within its capabilities (not for rugged turn-out for example) performs well and is very convenient. We use it on ponies who go barefoot yet have to go to and from the ring over rough ground... we carry one in the ringside equipment backpack in case a shoe gets lost... and at home we use these over a poultice or heal-grab treatment to great effect. What's the problem? THE SIZING!!! Smartpak only carries size 6 as the largest size which fits a horse (barefoot-- no poultice) up to about a size 2 shoe-- so our large ponies and maybe TB... one WB who is small footed (that's probably why he needs it so often). It would be GREAT to be able to get these in HORSE sizes -- WOOF makes them...so PLEASE maybe Smartpak will expand their offerings? It really is a nice product. We would also love to try the WOOF bell-boots / over-reach boots... but again, Smartpak only carries small sizes (and ponies don't often need over-reach boots...). Come on Smartpak!?!

The good news is that it's easy to put on and take off the horse's hoof, The bad news is that it only lasted 2 days. Back to duct tape.....
