I love these!
Thanks to the reviewer who posted instructions on how to pull them on like a sock! The zipper is crazy hard to use, but with that one tip, they transformed into my favorite half chaps ever! They fit like they were tailored to my leg, and I find myself wearing these every day. If they ever go on clearance, I'll scoop up another pair to have in reserve. I've owned them for almost a year and they are holding up very well - still in excellent condition, and well worth the money!

LOVE these half chaps! Zip problem solved!
I have had my Tredstep Medici Air Half Chaps going on 2 years. I love them. Yes, the zipper is very awkward, and I was getting quite annoyed with them the first couple weeks of wear, but I came up with a solution... I keep the top of the half chaps connected, in other words, the zip is connected/started and the top snap is snapped. I leave them that way. Then I pull each half chap on like you would a sock BEFORE putting on my paddock boots. I pull the half chap up into place where it normally lies on my leg. Then I flip the bottom of the half chap up out of the way. I then put on my paddock boot. Then I slightly tug the half chap down a smidge so I can get the elasticated bottom of it over the toe of the boot and place the elasticated part down under the boot where it should lie, give a slight tug back up at the top of the half chap to make sure its back in the correct place, finish zipping the remaining part of the zip all the way down and snap the bottom snap. No straining to get the half chap connected at the top. I reverse the steps to get the half chap off (in other words, I do not unzip the half chaps all the way, I just pull the zip close to the top and pull the elasticated part of the chap at the bottom back over the toe of my boot, pull my boot off and then pull the half chap off like a sock). I had to share this information to help those who are considering these chaps or any other chaps that have the zipper that connects at the top. It really makes life so much easier. And BTW, I love these chaps. They are so soft and I love the stretch to them and they look really smart! Considering I'm not very good at cleaning them regularly, they have held up tremendously well so far. They are a smidge pricey, but well worth the money spent. I can tell they will hold up very well.

Good fit
I’ve been wearing my new half chaps for about 2 weeks now. I really like the look and how they fit but the zippers are in an awkward location. It really makes zipping them on difficult.

Look smart! BUT..
I have had these half chaps for over a year, now! The reason I gave 2 stars is I love the look of them when they are on, but it stops there--I agree with everyone else about zipping them up--I use coconut oil on the zippers and it seem to help. The snap on the top of my right chap pulled off about two months ago and I have never been able to snap the lower snaps and flaps on either chap!! Also, the elastic band running under the chap is way too large so it makes it harder to zip because it doesn't hold the chap in place! I have been wearing Tredsteps forever and saw these Medicis and thought how streamline they looked--silly me--I thought they would fit the same way as the other Tredsteps do, but no!!

Zippers are horrible
I’ve had these chaps for some time now and always just stop using them and go back to my cheapies. In the year that i have had these i have maybe used them 7-8 times. The zippers take for ever to get to line up or even zip. Very frustrating and not worth the time. Very disappointed with this product for I love my y’all boot by Tredstep.

Zippers are aweful and chaps don't last
I bought these chaps a year ago and from day one the zippers are impossible to use. Some days ride in tall boots because I don't want to deal with the zippers on the half chaps. I also had to get the leather re stitched on the seam because they have worn thru with not that much use. Only ride 3 days max per week. I tell everyone not to buy these chaps. Waste of money

High Quality, Amazing Fit for Wide Calves
I have the hardest time finding well-fitting boots and chaps because I have a very muscular, large and short calf but small ankles. I've found that Tredstep is absolutely the best brand for my needs. I would go one calf size down from what you think on these. They fit beautifully, from the ankle to the spanish top. I think the unique elastic band surrounding the calf gives a really nice shape. I wear these with the Ariat Kendron Paddock boot for the dress boot-style look and they look great together. I couldn't be happier.

very disappointed
Very disappointed with quality. Zippers are cheap plastic and very hard to zip. Have had less than a year and no longer work.

Broken and Worn Out within 6 Months
I bought these because I wanted some half chaps that would still look nice for clinics and schooling shows. About three weeks into owning these the buckle broke off (I only ride once a week) and now they have worn holes where they meet my paddock boot and saddle (less than a year later with only once a week use). Very disappointing.

First time I have been disappointed with Tredstep.
I have been wearing Tredstep half chaps very happily for several years so I was excited to try a new design from them. Within weeks of use these half chaps became impossible to put on as the zippers would not line up. For the price I would expect the zippers to function! I am very disappointed with this half chap and I cannot recommend them.
