Amazing vest
I bought this a while back and I’m so happy I did. I feel so much safer while riding. This vest fits nicely and doesn’t get to hot in the summer months.

Not as comfortable as the original vest
Since I have gained weight I decided to upgrade from my current older model Tipperary and go up a size. I figured that I should try the Pro since it is "more protective". Unfortunately it is also heavier and feels more constricting in my chest, even after I got a larger size. It also gapped between my armpit and my chest. I think that vests are not really made for us "busty" girls.

Ugh
I’m sure this is a great vest for eventers but it feels like a straitjacket. It comes up high under the arms and made my ribs sore. I’ve tried three vests and all are uncomfortable.

Disappointed
I researched many riding vest after purchasing a new horse. I decided on the Tipperary Pro 3015 due to the reviews & long standing name of Tipperary. However, recently after riding several months in this vest my new horse did decide to go into a full bronc buck & I was left with broken ribs on each side including broken ribs under my shoulder blade. I did not land on any rocks, just dirt. I am disappointed because I wore this vest faithfully even on five hour trail rides in the hot summer heat which can get pretty hot.

Hoped I wouldn't have the zipper issue but...
My vest just arrived and I was so excited because after tons of research, even knowing that there was a possibility I was going to have issues with the zipper like the other reviews, I hoped I wouldn't be one of them.
I tried it on and it fit great, was pretty comfortable and I went to sit down in tall chair so I could feel how it would be when sitting....and the zipper popped open from the bottom. I wasn't even riding or anything.
Super bummed but I can't justify keeping it and having to pay someone to put buttons/a better zipper in on a $400 vest. Just grateful SmartPak will let me return it for free!

Good safety insurance when riding different horses
I purchased after much research, including a CO2 inflatable type. Here's why I went this route. I usually fly to the location I'm going to trail ride & airlines, don't like air cartridge's. Many accidents happen when mounting or dismounting & the HitAir type don't protect when not hooked up. Other horses may not respond well when the air cartridge pops. This vest was long enough & this vest is ASTM F1937-04 SEI Certified.

Size Perfect
I got this in exchange for the Champion vest that did not fit at all. This vest is a great fit and the quality seems good as well. Jessica who works there recommended the switch and she was spot on! She was the deciding factor.

Comfortable and full coverage
Good product and reasonable price. Comfortable and light. Full coverage of body. I’m In a southern state and vest is not hot like some I have used. Easy to adjust to fit snug but allows free movement.

Faulty zipper
I have two old Tipperary safety vests that had worn thin. They lasted so long that I was confident about buying a replacement but to my disappointment after a handful of rides the zipper has consistently become undone from the bottom leaving the vest fastened only my neck.

I love my Tipperary Eventer Pro!
This was my first safety vest purchase and I spent about 2 or 3 months researching all the available options. I was looking for a non-air vest that didn't break down in the brutal Florida heat.
Speaking of heat, yes it does make summer riding a little warmer but the side lace helps with air flow. I just wear a thin shirt with it. It definitely does not make it so warm that I won't use it.
I have 5 and 6 year old geldings that are pretty level headed but being introduced to trails and I am in my 50's now and don't bounce like I used to. It gives me a bit more peace of mind having this vest.
Some reviews stated the zipper malfunctioned and that is why I waited to review. The lace sides allow for it to be kept looser while zipping then the side lace can be easily snugged up vs zipping with the vest already tightened on the sides. It is still plenty rigid but quickly formed to my shape and have had zero issues. It still looks like new after heavy use for over 6 months.
I highly recommend this vest.
