Mountain horse polar breech
Easily worn over breeches. Size runs big. I’m usually XXL but I could have ordered a L. Best in snow and truly cold regions.

Perfect for a cold winter hack!!
I had ordered a Small, but you were out. I ordered the XS, and I am happy I did. These are built amazingly well, they are comfortable, and they are warm! And getting these on clearance was an amazing gift to myself.

Not as expected
I had looked forward to these pants as I have a pair that I've been wearing for five years and they have been amazing. I actually ordered from a different company because Smartpak didn't have them in my size. But the new design feels heavy in the crotch like you're wearing a diaper, They feel bulky and heavy overall whereas the former design just felt comfy and didn't make me look like the Pillsbury doughboy in black. One nice feature is the snaps at the waist for a better fit there. I hope Mountain Horse refines their design otherwise I will not be buying these pants again.

so warm and fit great
Bought as a gift for my 74 year old mom who gets so cold in the CO winter weather but she can ride in these no problem. They fit her prefect she is so happy.

Great product!
I ordered these after reading all the reviews and decided they were worth taking a chance on since they were on sale and I'm glad I did. They're very comfortable and can be worn over jeans or breeches or alone if you don't need the extra layers. I ordered both a small and a medium after reading the reviews to avoid delays if I needed to replace due to fit. I am 5' 4" and 138 lbs. and the small fits perfectly over jeans or alone, with Smart Pak's easy returns I sent the medium back. The waist is a bit high when riding but not uncomfortably so, and even though they're long, the snaps at the bottom prevent them from dragging the ground when walking and they're fine while riding. As a bonus, they match my Mountain Horse winter coat perfectly.

Great fit and well made
I am 5'8" and weigh 155. I wear a 28 long in breeches. I bought these in a medium and they fit perfectly over tights. If I wanted to wear them over jeans or thick sweatpants, I would need a large, but they are very warm and tights or fleece breeches are the perfect underlayer for me. The construction looks amazing and they afford an excellent range of motion. I have not ridden in them yet, so I can not review their durability. I trust Mountain Horse as a brand and the stitching and zippers both look superior. The features are great all around, with deep, zippered pockets, reflective detailing, and elastic stirrups for under the feet. Bring on the cold!!!

They thought if everything
I did read reviews and thought it was worth a try. Pockets of course! Material that doesn’t make tons of noise. Length so your pants don’t look like your wearing your kids clothes while in the saddle. So many positive things. Worth the money!!!

Love these pants but the zippers always break
Best winter riding pants if the zippers didn't always break. Great design. Only got to have one ride in them before the zippers down the pant leg were splitting. Really disappointed.

Warmth in a chilly arena
I love these breeches! I use them to stay warm while teaching beginners to ride. We are under cover but not heated.
You need a pair of long johns underneath
and you are toasty.
They are very well made with handy long zippers up the side.
