Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynn from Happy horse! My young horse is more relaxed and carries his head lower with this bit compared to a regular snaffle. It may not be the best bit for a very strong horse though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pony Lover from Not a good fit for my pony I bought this in a size 4 3/4" after my new trainer suggested bringing my pony down to a snaffle from a ported kimberwicke. I know this isn't a pony bit but 4 3/4" is a relatively small size, so I wasn't expecting the rings to be so enormous. I had to adjust the cheek piece soo much to accomodate this bit - if the rings were any larger, I'd need a smaller bridle! She goes okay in this bit but by the end of the ride she's chomping and chewing so much it's hard to enjoy my ride - there's just a lot to play with, and it's easy for her to get a hold on it. Once I get the new mullen mouth snaffle I ordered, I probably will not use this bit anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kylien from Good quality I bought this bit to use on a 3 yr old OTTB gelding. Have gone through three other designs I had at hand but none were quite working right. He's got a really gentle mouth and I wanted to use something that I could take to a show or out in the hunt field. This works very nicely for both! I had mine personalized and the engraving is well done and didn't delay shipping too long. Sizing is pretty accurate and the material is good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JMCA from Love this bit! My horse is just learning to wear a bit. I switched her from a generic full cheek snaffle to this bit. She doesn't pull against it, and is softer to the rein aids. She salivates and seems to "work" it with her mouth, but it seems like she understands and gives to the pressure from this bit very well. It is well made, and heavy. But I think the weight is part of what makes it work well. Because it is wide, that weight seems well distributed in the mouth.
