Love the Boot- Hate the back zipper
I love this boot except for the back zipper. The zipper is very stiff and doesn't seem to become easier to use with time which is the only reason I gave this boot 4 stars. Smartpak should stick with a front zip boot and a front lace boot and get rid of the back zipper. What I love about this boot is it's fuzzy all the way through even the sole, it fits my wider foot and high instep very well. I have a terrible time finding boots that actually fit. For the price you can't beat this boot. I purchased as a last ditch effort to find a winter paddock boot and was shocked when the fit perfectly. They do run large which did allow for thick socks and room to move my feet. I'll be purchasing the regular paddock boot in a half size smaller and not the back zip option.

Beautiful insulated leather paddock boots
I bought a pair of these a month ago, and was surprised at how nice they were for the money! They are leather, have a back zipper and are insulated with thinsulate. They are true to size and were comfortable right out of the box. I wore them for the first time last week to do a virtual show. The temperatures were in the teens, and they were very comfortable to ride in. They look and fit great! Give them a try. The fact that I bought them during a sale was especially nice!

Fairly warm
My insulated Ariats finally died right before a cold front was coming, so I bought these as they are affordable. I like to have the lace in the front to accommodate different layers; however, I do not like the zipper in the back. I have to adjust the laces for thicker pants/socks so the zipper does not help and is something that will break. Plus it is not easy to grab the zipper pull with my gloves on. I also found the foot bed uncomfortable to walk around in for more than a couple of hours. Suggest adding an insole if you will be doing a lot of walking. But they did keep my feet warm when the temps were in the 40s and my feet did not freeze when the temps were in the 30s. But they do not feel as warm as my old Ariats. Luckily we have very mild and short winters down south so these will do. Can't comment on durability as winter has just started.

Yes! My feet stay warm!
I am so glad I gave these a try. Great deal and good comfort. My usual paddock is the Ariat nitro lace-up in size 11. I bought these in 11. I had been wearing those with ski socks or wool socks and it wasn't cutting it. These Eliza boots are great and I wear them with a basic athletic tube sock and stay warm. I personally did need more arch support, and was able to fit a supporting insole into the footbed without removing the original. I love the lace & zipper design, they are a good weight, and I appreciate the stiffer structure for good ankle support. It's been around 30 degrees in the barn, 20s outside, and I feel good commuting, walking, doing barn chores & riding in these. I'm in them about 2-3h per day.

Great deal!
Really nice quality boots for the price! The interior is completely lined with faux fleece even in the toe. Just the footbed/insole isn't fuzzy but you can always add a sheepskin insole. They fit true to size. I sized up for thicker socks and happy I did. I have the coldest toes and really need the extra layers in the toe area. These have a nice spacious toe without being bulky. I like that they don't look clunky or "wintery". These boots have a nice weight to them, and were warm in recent rides. I also trudged through mud and muck puddles without getting my feet wet, so impressed so far with the water resistance. Not sure if they would hold up to sub freezing temps, but will update if they do once it gets cold enough.

Riding boots
Be sure to break these in before riding. I didn't and they were stiff and hurt my ankles. I wore them for the afternoon and the next time I rode they were great. I really like them. Keeps my feet warm in the cold and they are easy to take on and off. Do wish the tongue had a keeper for the laces as it moves a lot when putting them on.

Warm!
The leather could be softer in these, but hopefully they'll break in after a few wears. The price (on sale) was excellent and they do a good job of keeping my feet warm. I just need them for Kentucky winters, and I think they'll be perfect for the job. I'm also happy to not subject my more expensive Ariats to winter conditions. I'm glad I got these!
