Great tall boots in a regular size
These boots are attractive, and comfortable. I bought them on a whim, on sale, two years ago. My pair are black, size 9 regular height and width. To start, they were a little tall and "bit" the backs of my knees. The break-in was 1 ride. They dropped and are soft and wonderful. They look great, and feel nice both in the saddle and walking around.
I usually school in paddock boots and half chaps. At this sale price ($100), I got the boots to school in, every day. They're fabulous.
To compare: I love my Tredstep Donatellos (for reference, size 39 RR) for showing. They have very thin leather that gives a very close feeling of the horse's flanks and easy ankle rotation. They are sewn angled for a "heels down" position. This is why they're so nice on a horse. They are not comfortable for walking, which is a "heels-up" movement. They also have a light, foamy sole which wears easily. So, those are reserved for showing only. I don't wear them on the ground. The Tredsteps are a tighter fit than these Elizas.
The Ariat Heritage tall boots that I had were 8.5 tall, regular calf, which was too tall. I sold them for this reason. These Smartpak Eliza's have the same rubber sole that I like liked in the Ariats - solid, but not heavy like my paddock boots.
I had Equitheme Verona tall boots with a curved zipper on the outside (similar to Ariat V Sport, but curved). These were light and great for hot summer days, but the curved zipper gave out and would be complicated to repair.
My thick leather Penelope Chilvers riding boots (side zipper) are better for walking than riding. They look amazing and have a solid sole for walking in squelching fields. They are well broken in, but the leather is a little thick. This makes it trickier to keep my heels down.
These Eliza boots are leather outside, but have a fabric lining. I needlessly worried they'd get a smell. I have even ridden without socks, without getting blisters on a summer's day. There is no zipper hold, and the zipper on my left leg has slid down while riding. I remedied this by pulling the zipper up before snapping on the top snap. There are snaps on the top and bottom. I have had these for 2 years, a few months of which I spent with a newborn. I have worn these for most of the year (except winter), riding an average of twice a week. I use a horse brush to get mud off, and have conditioned them once or twice. They look great, with some creasing on the inside (likely due to the zipper coming down). My spiked stirrup footbeds haven't shredded the soles. The break-in was easy, and I have been happy ever since. If you're looking to upgrade from paddock boots, these tall boots are great and affordable at full price. There is a difference in keeping heels down, having just one layer of leather. I dreaded tall boots after having a hand-me-down pair of pull-on Ariats in the early 2000's. I wish I had gotten the Elizas, sooner! I'll be putting a pair of brown ones on my wish list.

love them
I purchased these boots in Nov and have consistently ridden in them consistently. I was originally looking for a paddock boot and half chap to replace my old pair, but I couldn't find a quality paddock boot that for like a boot, rather than a high shoe, to replace my old paddock boots. I am 5'9', 140lbs with a regular calf and lower leg length and the boots perfectly!! Never would have imagined a boot could fit so well-no break-in time, comfy from the start, the cushioned footbed is soft and supportive and the boots look great. I wish I bought 2 pairs.

Very good for the price point
I will update in about a month, once I've ridden in them a bit. I have been on the fence about trying these for a while. I didn't have high expectations given the price point, but so far I'm decently pleased. So far, the only negative feedback is the sizing limitations. I am not a tall in any other brand, but I ordered a tall on these and it was definitely necessary. Additionally, there's a huge size jump from regular calf to the wide calf. I'm between regular and wide depending on the brand, went with the wide due to the measurements. It's about .25 to .5 inches two wide for me personally through the calf but everywhere else fits well. Doesn't gap at the top and the height is good. For the price point. I think these are alright.
I added a photo to capture a seam on the inner front portion of the calf. This is a feature likely necessary to keep the price point lower, as you can use smaller portions of hide to construct the boot. It's not a deal breaker for me.

Nice boots but came with scratches
These just came in the mail and I felt like adding a review now, because of quite a few cosmetic flaws in the boots. First off, they fit great. A little tall but I know when they are all broken in the leather will slide down a bit (I’m 5’8 for reference) I got a size 9 and I’d say it’s true to size. I’m excited to ride in them! They are not too narrow in the toe box either. What made me slightly disappointed was the amount of scratches in the leather right out of the box. That’s why it’s a 3 star review for me. A little disappointed in the quality in that aspect.

This boots are really nice quality, but they were way to tall for my legs. They pinched the back and front of my knee. I wish they made a shorter option. But other than that these boots are nice quality for the price. Just wish they didn’t pinch.

So good!
My hopes were high and these were STILL better than I could have expected! They’re plenty structured but still break in easily and the wides are actually wide enough for my monster calves! These are really nice boots, not just for the price but yes, especially for the price.

Easy to break in.
Will update as I use them more. I avoided getting new tall boots at all costs, breaking in my last pair took weeks and many blisters. But these I wore briefly twice to break them in and had a 2 hour ride in them today with no issues or discomfort! My only complaint is that there isn't a keeper for the zipper on the top snap.

Just received my second pair!
I LOVE these boots. I bought them in black about 1.5 years ago, and they held up so well that I decided to order the brown. The brown is BEAUTIFUL, and these boots fit me like a glove. Excellent quality for the price too.

Great boot, and actually a true wide!
I bought this boot last year and have been loving it ever since. The wide is a true wide (which is SO hard to find) and they fit like a glove. I am now buying these over other brand tall boots. I will say one of my snaps broke within the first month or so, but that hasn't stopped me from wearing them, and I may have just gotten a bad pair. I am actually writing this review before I buy a new pair to replace my old ones so I have one for schooling and one for show - and yes, some may not think so, but these look so lovely I will be showing in them.
