Does the job
This is my second Best Friend muzzle. Fits my horse nicely, lots of adjustments and keeps him from eating too much rich grass.

Broke quickly
I bought two of these and both horses broke them within the first week. The plastic that allows the muscle to lengthen and shorten broke so the muzzle hung off the nose and under their chin.

Durable but too enclosed for high temps
This is sturdy and no problems keeping it on my mare. It is, however, heavy and so while it’s a great backup muzzle it’s not my first choice in the Texas heat as I don’t think it’s as ventilated as another option I have on hand. My horses drink from extra large tanks so I can’t comment on whether it works with smaller automatic waterers.

Easy & Durable
My horse gets into everything in the pasture yet this product manages to stay on him. It's not fussy for humans to take on-and-off so the barn manager doesn't mind it. The fit is great, and its made of good quality materials. There is soft, leather padding above the ears and the muzzle itself does not have any brittle plastic or edges. I've not used a grazing muzzle before and have been more than pleased with how this product has worked out.

Like the buckle crown
I've had the need for grazing muzzles for many years - There have been many products along the way - Best Friend has been a staple in the industry - this one is almost perfect in my mind. As with many other comments, the crown leather is too thin - but they have made slight changes to accommodate better breathing - I think they could still be larger for better air flow. All of the horses/ponies I have a need for muzzling are VERY CREATIVE at finding ways to remove their headgear - most are unable to wear fly masks as that makes the muzzle slide over easier. I'd like to see the crown doubled with THICK leather, not paper thin leather - and I don't need the padding - that just makes it slide easier. I've replaced the crown with a double stitched version, which allows for breakaway in a true emergency, but not just in an attempt to get rid of it. I also braid a section of mane about 4 inches wide and put the crown through that braid to keep it in place.

Nice product, disappointed plastic adjusters broke
After wearing the grazing muzzle for one week, two of the halter plastic strap adjusters broke. I suspect my gelding either rolled or was 'horsing around'. Otherwise I was happy with the muzzle. SmartPak immediately replaced and hopefully this problem does not recur.

Nice leather!
My horse has taken right to it. No rubbing on his precious face. Hopefully see some weight loss soon. I’ve only had the muzzle for a couple of weeks. Wasn’t sure about the leather but it’s holding up fine.

Comfortable.
I had to by two last spring because the rubber on the muzzle is not as thick as the regular a Best Friend muzzle and the hole became very large after a couple of months. Usually I only have to have one per season from April to December.

design
Why can't you redesign these muzzles that aren't hot and have larger opening for breathing ? Theses designs are hot, heavy, and restricts air. Come on guys its 2019!!! I only recommend them because it saves their lives .

Like the best friends grazing muzzle a lot
I needed another cob size grazings muzzle but I do not like the padded leather crown. It is that rubber stuff that gets really too warm for horses does not breath.
