Rated 4 out of 5 by picasso from Light weight I've bought Ariat half chaps for years. This is the first time buying the breeze half chaps. I was surprised at how lightweight they are--sort of like wearing a leather glove on your legs. They fit me better than usual--a bit less snug, or perhaps it's just that the leather is less stiff so that it's easier to zip. So far, I think they're super. I did refrain from 4 stars given how pricey they are for the weight (which I happen to like, but do wonder about durability).

Rated 5 out of 5 by BiskitGirl from Built to last! I purchased these half chaps with a pair of Ariat heritage paddock boots 10 years ago at the age of 13. I still have both and wear them each ride. The chaps still fit beautifully though I need a tall now, and the boots only need polish to look nice again. I would replace them but I can’t justify it because there isn’t a stitch out of place, they still fit snug, and the zipper still works like new.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sonomasand from Does not close over Ariat paddock boots I wish I had paid more attention to another recent review that mentioned this because I experienced the exact same issue--the chap does not close over the paddock boot! We measured carefully for calf width and length and ordered an XS, but it really doesn't matter how it fits around the calf if the fit is off below the ankle (not something they provide a measurement for). We spent hours doing our research on brands and styles and thought we were making an informed decision so I am pretty irritated that I have to return these due to a design flaw. I expected better from Ariat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sooz from Washable but fit over Ariat Waterproof Boot Awful I have a slim calf and that portion fit is great; however, trying to get the zipper closed the last part over the Ariat Waterproof paddock boot is back-straining and almost impossible. You would think that Ariat would design a washable half chap that would fit properly in all ways over their waterproof boot. Come on Ariat - your company is better than this.

For what ever reason this time the sizing seemed smaller, despite my calf measurement being within the sizing chart, so needed to return the first 2 attempts. I finally ended up ordering a larger size to make them work.

I've only used them a few times so not sure how they'll hold up but I'm so pleased to find a pair for shorter legs, larger calves. Ordered the XS. Love the velcro closures as I've found the snaps sometimes become hard to open/close. Def recommend these.
