Milk Thistle Plus was formulated by Hilton Herbs to maintain and support liver and kidney function as well as the normal elimination of toxins in horses. This unique supplement provides milk thistle seed along with a combination of other herbs, including dandelion root, burdock root, cleaver herb, nettle leaf, liquorice root, and dandelion leaf. Cured my horse!!
I had a horse that for months had high liver enzyme levels and high fibrin levels. He was in the hospital for a few days and ever test came back normal other than his blood work showing the high liver enzymes. After going home he still wasn’t super comfortable and I read that Milk Thistle is good for the liver and kidneys. After being on it two weeks he’s a completely different horse and the best news his latest blood work came back all normal!! No high liver failures and his fibrin came down 100pts. The vet couldn’t believe it. It’s the only thing I added to his diet and I firmly believe it saved him. I will never take him off of it.

A bit too excited
Horses had elevated liver enzymes. I started them on milk thistle powder . Enzymes dropped, but not low enough. Their energy increased. I switched to milk thistle plus. Enzymes dropped farther, but they became too excited after three weeks. Switched back to pure powder and they are energetic, but not excited. So, yes, it works, but I’ve concern about the potential side effect.

Incredible response, ventral edema reduced.
I have a 33 year old gelding who is the love of several lady’s lives. He is the main reason I adore SmartPak the way I do. I am a veterinarian, and while many do not advocate oral supplements and herbs, I strongly suggest trying them in many cases. I competed in Regionals at Dressage with my 7/8 Arab until he was 27 years old, and no one suspected he was beyond his teens. He began showing ventral edema around 8 years ago, and we just thought it was age related, I was told when I bought him (yes, I bought an antique horse!) that he “just had a bit of swelling there sometimes”.). When it became more of an issue, I ran bloodwork on him with more detail about 3 years ago, and was devastated to learn he had advanced renal failure. He had progressed to having such bad swelling in his sheath that he was in pain and we were considering sad things. I pored over all the SmartPak supplements, and found this one for kidneys, but what cinched it was a review mentioning an improvement in ventral edema! I am here to say, IT WORKED. He has been on it for several years now, and last week on my visit he came CANTERING up the field on my whistle (He is 33). He had no ventral edema to speak of and his sheath was barely puffy. He’s rather deaf, and has a bit of grey on his face, but thanks to this and a pricey SmartPak senior combo produce (nothing is too good for my baby), he is sound and happy. Thank you, thank you for giving my sweet old boy a happy and comfortable retirement. We love you guys.

Great supplement!!!
My mare is on a high dose (1-2mg/day) of bute and I was worried about her kidney health. I put her on this supplement to help her system deal with all that bute, and I have been pleased with the results.

Fantastic results!
About a year ago, we were told our 32 yr old Welsh pony's liver was failing and he was likely not going to make it much longer. Started him on this and a year later there are no signs of liver failure. He's back to being plump, happy, and sassy with a good appetite. He looks 15 again!

It works!
I bought this a couple of weeks ago. My horse no longer has ventral edema & has normal urine out put instead of soaking his paddock. He stopped dragging his hind feet. He's cantering and bucking in turnout. It's like I found the fountain of youth for him!

It works!
I put my gelding on this, he had a high kidney value on his last blood test. I had him re-tested a month later and it was normal. I would recommend this product.
