Herbal Support for Pituitary Function
Vitex Plus is formulated to maintain and support pituitary health, endocrine balance, and normal metabolic function in horses. It contains a comprehensive selection of herbs that includes vitex agnus castus seed, which is also known as chasteberry. The other targeted ingredients include goats rue herb, bilberry fruit, artichoke leaf, milk thistle seed, and golden rod herb. The Vitex Plus range has been field-trialed and tested, and owners have reported excellent results, especially with older horses and ponies who have poor coat shedding in the spring and summer. Available in a dry form and in a liquid form.

Great job for helping pony shed winter coat
I bought this in hopes would help my pony shed out!! I could brush and brush and see little to no difference in his coat. In about a week I could see a great difference with this blend of herbs! And now he looks great, totally shed out!! I started this on June 15th! You can reference the photo to see the improvement!! :)))

I love this supplement but the ingredient Goldenrod is not USEF allowed.

Wonderful Outcome!
My 24 year old Paso Fino has Cushings, was lethargic, grew very long hair and hoofs, and could barely walk. I considered putting him down, not because I didn't love him but because he was so unhappy and in pain. I started adding one scoop each of Vitex Plus and Control IR daily to his feed. Within a few weeks he began moving with grace, his long hoofs broke off to normal, he shed his long hair, and he started enjoying life again. He now has the spirit of a young boy and is very happy. Thank you for saving my sweet boy!

Very promising!
I've only been feeding this for a month and so far... so good! It took a few days for my picky 24yo mare to accept this change and after week+ of getting full dose, the improvements are obvious: she's "deflated" and much more animated.

Ok Product, if horse eats it
I tried giving this product to my 31 yr old mare with Cushings disease. She absolutely refused to eat it, even mixed with her grain. If the product would come in a pellet or even crumble form, there would be a greater chance of her eating it. I even tried to moisten the feed so she would HAVE to eat the supplement, she refused to touch it. I locked her in my run-in to "make" her eat it, she went all night without touching her grain. I had to scoop the feed out of her feeder, wash the feeder out to get rid of the powder residue just so she would eat fresh grain. I cancelled my order due to this reason. I can't have my mare skipping meals, she has weight gain issues to begin with due to the disease. If this product would ever be offered in pellets or crumbles, I would try it again. Oh and the smell of the product is enough to ruin my appetite, so I can't really blame my old girl.

Seems to help
Stall started to be less wet after 10 days on it. Shedding has picked up. Seems to be helping overall. He actually eats it, even though he's VERY picky.
Package stated that his dose should be 2 scoops per day, but I agree more with the dose (3 scoops) given on Smartpak's website. Lower dose may be fine for less advanced cases, but if they've had Cushings for years, more seems to be better!

Vitex Plus
I can't say enough about this product! My horse was recently diagnosed with Cushings Disease. He suffered with lethargy and laminitis. My Vet recommended the Vitex Plus instead of Pergolide as a course of treatment. I am now on my 2nd shipment of the Vitex Plus Smart Paks and my horse has shown incredible progress. He is no longer lethargic and his feet are much better and less tender. He is a happy boy and I am a happy horse owner. Thank you Smark Pak for helping us get back in the saddle!

Glad I tried this
I purchased this product for our pony and our blind horses all of whom are slow to shed. It has made such a difference, I have already recommended it to a friend. When I saw the texture and smelled the product I wasn't sure they would eat it, but all three did without any problem.
