Instructions

Foals, yearlings, and horses in light work: 1 ml to 1.5 ml per 250 lbs body weight. (4 to 6 ml per 1,000 lbs.)
Horses in moderate to heavy use, or during periods of intense stress, recovering from surgery, or being treated for illness: 1.5 mls to 2.5 mls per 250 lbs body weight. (6 to 10 mls per 1,000 lbs.)
For best results feed daily. APF may be administered directly into horse's mouth, or added to a small amount of feed.

My favorite horse, who is 19 this year, has had inflammatory issues most of his life, including mild to moderate heaves / allergies, borderline insulin resistance, and mild arthritis. The combo was enough to really limit what he could do. I wondered if he had some kind of immune issue going on. I had tried APF before without results, but now I think the dose just wasn't high enough then. For the past couple of years, every summer, he's had abscessed lymph nodes. The vet said it was allergy related and just to keep the drainage spot clean. I was desperate and put him on APF again with the most recent abscess to try to clear it up (2x the dose I did before). He ate the cookie happily. I noticed a difference in 3 days! He's been on APF nearly a month now. The swelling / lump under his skin is completely gone. Earlier this week he was running and playing the way he used to do when he was young. Today he cantered under saddle for the first time in five years and wanted to do more! I haven't had results even close to this with anything else. This stuff is expensive but it worked a miracle for me. I am going to do everything I can to make sure he stays on it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by C1Horse from Double Benefit In December of 2018, we changed barns and I knew my cribber was going to spend more time in a stall, so I added 1ml liquid APF to his evening grain, on top of his powdered supplements. No problem with him eating it, but wasn't sure if it was helping much. Now summer, with the flies and heat, he usually gets hives and even more nervous cribbing. I started him on 2 ml 2 weeks ago, and NO more hives, plus he is quieter in his stall - cribs a few times, then relaxes. A definite change for the better! It's expensive, but it does the trick!

I am pleased to report that only after 4 days of use my horse's hives are SIGNIFICANTLY reduced and the worst areas are healing nicely. I am happy that it worked for Ace and I will be adding it my monthly order.He also loves the wafer form as he thinks it's just another treat. I only wish now I had taken before photos to share. Thank you Smartpak!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sherry from Easy to feed. This cube is like a treat. My mare loved it. She quickly had fewer hives when other horses hives increased on a windy weekend. No way to prove if it was because of stronger immune system or a change in the season. She had lots of hives all spring so I wanted to give her a boost. Will definitely order this again next spring.

She has severe allergies, I was recommended this product and smart immune, both did nothing for her. May work better on a horse not so severe. I ended up seeing an allergy specialist.

I started him on APF and, knock on wood, have not had a single case of it since and it has been over a year. I started with the high end of the dose recommendation and have weaned him down to 1 ml twice a day. I like the liquid as I can easily adjust the dosage if need be.
