We Asked, You Answered: Grooming Tools
We asked our friends and followers on social media "What's the BEST grooming tool for spring shedding and mud?" and there were so many great tips and suggestions we had to capture and share them here, too!
Scroll through as we count down the top tools riders like you shared for combating hair and mud during springtime grooming.

7. When in doubt, clip it out
Let's be honest right from the get go, not everyone can or wants to spend hours battling mud and hair- and that's okay! For those of you that reach right for the clippers and a fresh set of blades, you're not alone.
6. Keep it classic
There are a good number of riders and owners out there keeping it classic with the beloved rubber curry comb. If you've got some upper body strength to spare (or want to work on building it up) this is easily a top favorite for the consistency and ease of use across seasons.
5. It's right in the name
There was overwhelming support for another classic, the ever-popular metal shedding blade. Easy to use and durable, one rider even noted she still has hers from 1969. (That means the footprints on the moon are the same age as her shedding blade, that's outta this world!) The spiral metal curry is another similar style that had a few shoutouts, too.
4. Not just for the dogs
While not traditionally a horse product, a number of fellow barn buddies called out the Furminator as their go-to grooming product for shedding season. We can't comment on its use here, but if you give it a try, let us know what you think!
3. Try a gentle approach
The Strip Hair (also known as Betty's Best StripHair® Gentle Groomer™) was a huge favorite amongst the fans! It's a great multi-purpose tool that's a big win for horses with sensitive skin or those who prefer less pressure while being groomed.
2. Get hands on
If you're looking for a way to get your hands dirty spiritually rather than physically, you're in good company. The HandsOn® Gloves for Grooming have been a huge win across riding communities! The five fingered gloves have scrubbing nodules on the fingers and palms and a versatile, flexible grip that make them a great addition to a grooming kit any time of the year.
1. Whatever you do, do it with 100%
And no matter what tools you're using, they'll work better with a little extra time and attention behind them!
