Great product! I can collect the waste in a shoe box. 4x5 bale lasts my 3 cobs 2 weeks!

Fantastic purchase!
I have used this net for 2 bales now. It's terrific. The horses can get their food but they don't waste the hay. I bought my net from SmartPak because of the 100% happiness guarantee. So far I am totally happy with it, and can't imagine why that would change. It's well worth the purchase.

Texas hay bag
We love it. The horses are not overeating and there is no waste! We are going to purchase one for a square bale for my Miniature horses.

The Texas Haynet is the absolute bomb!
Our first Texas Haynet was purchased about 7 years ago and it was getting to need a lot of mending work. So we purchased this one from SmartPak. We are devoted users of the net. Our horses can’t pull the hay out on the ground and we put out hay every 2 weeks versus weekly.

I've had this a full year now, and it is holding up nicely. I use in conjunction with a hay hut, as my horses are shod. The only thing that worried me, is that it closes with a drawstring, which leaves a large loop that a leg could get caught in if not in a hay hut. I was actually worried that when the hay was almost gone that they would pull it out of the hayhut and get tangled in it, but it is too heavy. I think even if it was out, if the loop was on the bottom, I doubt they could move it enough to get caught in it. It hasn't ripped, even when it was frozen to the ground, and we used a tractor to pull it up. My round bales went to lasting about 2 weeks (they would pull hay out of the hayhut and stomp into the ground, which was a mess to clean up, as well as a waste of money) to a full month with NO cleanup needed!! Easily paid for itself within 3 months - if you have more than 2 horses, it will pay for itself much faster!

Problems with ripping
I was so happy using this haynet, it really slowed down the rate at which our horses and cows ate through round bales...until one or more of them learned to bite through the cord. They made holes approximately 1 square foot in size and just chow down. I will try to repair, but I think once they've learned how to destroy the net they will always be able to get around it. I would still recommend to someone else because their animals may not know how to bite through the net.
