Love this fly sheet!
Just put this on my very tall warmblood mare today so my mind could change, but so far I love it! I saw that it runs large so I ordered an 81 (she normally wears an 84) and it fits her perfectly. Ventilation seems great, and I love how the neckpiece attaches with velcro.

Don't waste your money
I bought this fly sheet for my horse last year at the end of May 2023. His previous fly sheet had gotten multiple years worth of use out of it and it was time for a new one. I had always heard good things about Rambo fly sheets and that they were supposed to be the most durable fly sheets out there. I decided to splurge and give them a try. I am very disappointed in the quality of this fly sheet. First off, the fit of the sheet is off. My gelding is your classic stocky quarter horse build. The neck piece is oddly long and the body of the sheet likes to pull towards his rump no matter how many times I reposition and pull it forward. I think this contributed to the rubbing on his chest (to the point that the hair was rubbed off) I noticed after a few weeks of wear last summer. I decided to keep it off him for the rest of the summer as the bugs were dying down and we were getting to the end of the season so he didn't really need a fly sheet anymore. I probably should've just tried to return the sheet at that time, but thought the rubbing and weird fit were just the new fly sheet being stiff and needing to break in with more wear. Fast forward to this year (summer 2024) he has only been wearing this sheet again for about 2 weeks and it still pulls weird across his chest but the material has softened/broken in and it's not rubbing like it was last year. However, I noticed today that the stitching on the chest velcro is already starting to let go. I found out that unfortunately Rambo does not offer a warranty on their fly sheets and this would be categorized under "normal wear and tear". Thus not eligible for any sort of replacement or repair. In my opinion, a fly sheet should be able to withstand much longer than about 2 months total wear before I start to see "normal wear and tear" signs. I wouldn't consider my gelding to be hard on his fly sheets as his previous 2 sheets both lasted him in the 3-5 year range. Don't waste your money on this sheet unless you want to be buying a new one within a year. Unfortunately I learned the hard way and am now out the cost of this fly sheet plus the cost of a replacement sheet which will NOT be a Rambo.

Offended on my mare's behalf
for these unrealistic body image standards! She is a 16'3 Irish Sport Horse - her previous Rambo Protector fit beautifully and lasted 6 years. I just repurchased the sheet this spring and the redesign is way too narrow around the belly and way too long in the neck. Clearly designed to fit only the necky, elegant warmblood type and I'm feeling indignant that a product from Horseware Ireland no longer fits a classic Irish style of horse.

Lasted 6 years on daily turnout
My last one lasted 6 years and held up extremely well on daily (solo) turnout. Photo is from the first day. Mare finally trashed it today and I'm buying the same again - hope the newer versions are still made to last like her older one was. Great lifespan for a sheet.

Won't buy again
I have used the Rambo Protector fly sheet in the past and loved it. However, things have changed. This fly sheet immediately started snagging and looking ragged. The neck piece is much longer than my previous one. I just switched the 2 neckpieces. The velcro seems stronger. The fabric used to secure the belly straps on the side of the sheet is stiffer (not as soft) as the previous sheet and rubbed my horse terribly. I had to sew a patch on it to alleviate the rubbing. The shoulder lining is already ripping after just over a month of use.

Disappointed
I love the Rambo line but am sadly disappointed by this sheet.
First, the neck is HUGE. You’d think it was for a sheet 2+ sizes larger.
There is no way to use leg straps so the whole thing constantly shifts from side to side.
It’s surprising that multiple reviews say their horses don’t get too hot. My gelding is body clipped and stands under fans in the shade but will start sweating like crazy if I try putting this sheet on.
I really wanted to love it, as he is challenging to fit and Horseware products are the best option, but it’s completely unusable for us.

Good Fly Sheet
I am keeping this because the reviews are good. These don't make your horse overheat. They last longer than the Amigo fly sheets. The Belly fly cloth just makes it around my horse's belly, the straps are plenty long. The neck is WAY to BIG. there is about 6 inches extra length on it. A friend has this on her horses and they stay cool and comfortable. In Minnesota it can get quite hot and humid, but the horses don't overheat. I would prefer the amigo but they seem to tear easily. The photos on other reviews are pretty much what it is

Does not fit the same
I’m not sure what Horseware has done, but their redesigned blankets do not fit like they used too. It is way too tight in the shoulders and loose in the neck hole. The metalware felt very cheap compared to the old blankets. I don’t know why the company had to re-invent the wheel, but this was extremely disappointing. Hopefully they will go back to the original design that I came to know and love. Until then I will be searching for a new blanket company.

Neck cover is huge!
I have two older Rambo Protectors and love them. I added another horse to my herd so, of course, wanted one for him too. I HATE how this product was changed. The neck cover is HUGE and doesn't even fit the horse I already had - even though the size is the same. Since the neck covers cannot be purchased separately, I can't even buy a smaller one. Such a pity.
