cheap, stiff, hard to put on
I expected new leather to be a bit stiff but this was stiff and had the added problem that the keepers were too small. they were a tremendous hassle, one worse than the other. the riding with them, they were smaller than I like--they were light and thin and , again, very stiff. taking them off the bit to clean them would have always been difficult and I think overall they are poorly made.

Good price, flexible grip
I was really impressed with the flexibility of these reins. They are not the hard bulky rubber but they are soft and fit your hand well. Also to note the leather was fairly nice for the price. I got the brown which came with hook stud ends. Great for a pair of schooling reins and I would probably also use them at events.

Good value.
Nice and "nubby", leather is soft. Reins can be so expensive and these are well priced.

Great for the price
Good deal for the price- a little stiff but nicely made. Should break in fine. For under $50 great set of reins.

Good value! They break-in nicely.
I bought these reins to use while a set of expensive reins are being made and I am tempted to cancel the order for the expensive ones! They felt stiff for the first couple of rides, but they are breaking in beautifully. I am able to maintain my rein length with the grippy rubber/texture. They have a nice weight to them, as well.

Got a little wet from rain
I got rained on a little during one of my rides. The reins did not hold up after they got a little wet. I’ve only had them for two months and take care of my tack. It looks like the leather is falling apart. Not happy.

Perfect for me
I have a weak grip due to age and other problems. These are easy for me to hold onto.

Don't let the price fool you - THESE ARE GREAT
My gelding chews on everything and finally ruined my rubber reins so I did not want to spend a fortune on new ones. These are very nice, well made reins. The rubber part is flexible and not bulky and the leather is a good quality. They feel good in the hand.

Nice quality; low price!
I am fussy about my reins. I liked rubber, but they can’t be too limp, skinny, or too heavy. And I like good leather. These fit the bill for a very good price. The leather is evenly thick, And smooth on the underside unlike cheap leather which is rough. The edges are finished nicely, and the reins look high end. One thing that I look for is the way that the rubber is sewn onto the leather fronts. (See picture). Very nice. I would definitely buy again.
