Not palatable
My horse wont eat this dry, its reccomended to be given dry but i have to mix it in with his other grain which is soaked, its the only way he will eat it. But i do think its helping bulk up with stool a little.

Okay product
While I like that Smartpak has its own psyllium product, I do find that others offer the same quantity of active ingredients for less money. However, if you are in a boarding situation, I would recommend these to ensure your horse is protected.

Imperarative, Especially in Sandy Areas!
My horse, Lucky, was having an issue with his manure. Fecal liquid was running down his back legs and making a mess. It was more of a fecal water syndrome type of issue than loose stool. My veterinarian highly recommended using a psyllium purge supplement. I asked about Smart & Simple™ Psyllium Pellets. He said he has many clients using that supplement with great success. I decided to give it a try. I fed it to my horse according to the directions and within 3 days it stopped his fecal water syndrome and no more stained back legs. I will be doing this according to directions once a month for 7 days, every month. It's a great product! I board my horse so the portion packs work great. They are on auto-ship with his SmartPaks.
My pony, Pumpkin, is now in Florida. I had him on the portion packs Smart & Simple™ Psyllium Pellets as well when he was home in MA. I find it even more important now that he is in Southern Florida. Pumpkin has never had any stomach or intestinal issues. I use it simply for maintenance.
My horse and pony eat it without any issues. They both love banana flavoring, so the apple-banana flavored pellets are very palatable.
This is the best product for removing sand I have ever purchased. I have tested Lucky's manure before using Smart & Simple™ Psyllium Pellets and he had a significant amount of sand. After using the product, he was virtually sand-free. The price is great and it is very convenient to feed.

Not palatable
My mini is an absolute food hound and loves to eat. I have to convince him to eat these pellets. He really doesn't like them much. The pellets and packs they come in are convenient though.

Sand colic
My horse has been taking a course of these every 60 days. A week after his last week long purge, we are at the vet. Diagnosis sand colic. Lots of sand in his manure. He eats them well, but they do not seem to work.
