The Total Saddle Fit Stability Stirrup Leathers’ wide-body design brings an unprecedented level of stability to a rider’s leg by providing a broader contact area on the saddle flap. Traditional 1 inch wide stirrup leathers have an inherent instability against the flap due to their height to width ratio. This either causes the two layers shift independently of one another, or the entire leather to rotate.
Stability Stirrup Leathers solve this problem by broadening the top layer of the leathers. This allows for the top layer to have left and right contact points on the flap (traditional leathers do not), which in turn provides an unparalleled level of stability not possible in traditional stirrup leathers.
The secondary benefit of this wide-body design, is the unbelievably smooth feeling under the rider’s leg. By the same mechanism that provides stability, they smooth out the transition from stirrup leather to saddle flap to create a feeling of “no leathers” under the leg.

Squishy leather
The leather on the part that goes through the stirrup bar is disappointing. It’s very squishy and hard to adjust and it’s peeling. I love the wide leathers but won’t purchase this brand again.

Too long and I can’t make them shorter :-(
I am disappointed by the lack of ability to shorten these. I measured before I ordered them and was confident the 60” would be the right length. They are too long and due to the strange design, I am unable to add holes in the right place for them to
fit me. Too thick to wrap them like a regular leather. So expensive and I can’t use them.

Not able to shorten enough due to design problem
Disappointed. Love the wide leathers but the design prevents shortening them enough. Tried them once and there were 6 more holes in the leathers. But the wide leather section prevents shortening them beyond about halfway. I am a smaller rider and I got the smallest size 48

Poor design on the 48 inch
This is my 3rd set of these leathers and my second set of 48 inch. I had another set for 3 years before they wore out. At first I thought this set was defective, but now I see other reviews noting the same issue. There are 14 holes, but you can't shorten past hole 9 - the wide front leather is too long and prohibits shortening. (See photos). My old 48" didn't have this problem that I noticed, but I always jumped on 8. In addition, the leather quality is poor now. In less than 4 months they have stretched out enough that I need to be on 10, so they no longer work for jumping. They aren't even getting heavy use as I jump once a week in winter. I can tell a difference compared to my dressage version that is 3 years old. Very disappointing since I have knee problem and these were helpful with the pressure on my later ligaments.

Too small
Got these for Xmas. Stamped at 54'', measured in at 53'. Otherwise the leather quality isn't what I would expect for $130 leathers. The wide part is false leather, and the rest feels pretty normal

Sizing wrong
Had to return. Unfortunately the 48" leathers cannot actually be ridden in on a hole shorter than hole#8 or so, since the wide portion / "front" of the stirrup leather is cut so that it is too long for a shorter length to be used. The stirrup cannot run once it hits the seam for the connection of the wide portion to the standard leather, and that is when you're on hole 7 or 8. Disappointed, as my 54" Millbrook Leathers have stretched out and I'm at the shortest possible hole of those. But can't get short enough in the Total Saddle Fit 48" pair. Hope TSF will fix this issue so I can replace my leathers.

Great design but ruined my saddle
I absolutely love the concept of these leathers and they keep my leg super stable however they ruined the flaps on my very expensive dressage saddle. Wish the leather was a bit softer and better quality.

I previously rated these with 3 stars, but I’m upgrading them to 4 because they did stretch and now fit me perfectly. A short person couldn’t ride in these, as they can only be shortened so much, but they work fine for me.

Love the design, quality is lacking
I have had these since September. While I really like the way they feel, I noticed today while cleaning my saddle the outer leather is starting to peel apart. I ride 2-3 horses three or four days a week. Really disappointing for $140 leathers.

Sizing is not correct.
I ordered 54” leathers even after reading reviews that the sizing was off. They do indeed measure at 53”, not 54”. I measured them against an old pair of regular stirrup leathers that are stamped 54, and these leathers (unridden in of course) measured 4” shorter. So either my old leathers were longer than 54” to begin with, or they stretched significantly. Either way, the old leathers fit perfectly. If these leathers stretch three inches, I’ll be fine. I’m 5’9” and ride hunters for reference.
